Planning 2027 starts with the calendar. Here is every national holiday, the full Terengganu list and the long weekends worth booking early.
The 2027 public holidays were announced by the Cabinet, Constitution and Inter-Governmental Relations Division of the Prime Minister’s Department and circulated by the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers on 27 August 2026. The list below follows that announcement. Holidays marked with an asterisk depend on the sighting of the moon or the religious calendar and are officially subject to change, so we will update this page if any date moves. Replacement holidays are not listed separately.

Editor’s Note
Israk and Mikraj appears twice in 2027, on 6 January and 26 December. That is not a misprint: the Islamic calendar is lunar and about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian year, so a festival can occasionally fall twice in one Gregorian year.
Some unofficial websites list New Year’s Day and a third day of Hari Raya Puasa as Terengganu holidays. The official list does not; the third day of Hari Raya is a holiday in Melaka only.

Good to know
- Replacement days: the announcement notes that when a holiday falls on a state’s weekly rest day (Friday or Sunday, as applicable), the following day becomes a holiday. Check each state’s confirmed replacement days closer to the date.
- Book early: East Coast hotels fill fast over Hari Raya and the May long weekend, and the northeast monsoon makes the coast quieter from around November to March.
- School holidays follow a separate Ministry of Education calendar and are not included here.
